  • a Field technicians assessed cloud cover at time of sampling. Insolation, air and water temperature, and wave height are averaged from continuously logged data (5-min intervals). Wind speed and wind direction were averaged for morning and afternoon sampling periods. The E. coli count is expressed as mean CFU 100 ml−1 for the five transects sampled. The initial and final E. coli counts were collected at 0700 h and 1500 h.
